Angus MacCormick
Urology Nurse Specialist, Taunton and Somerset Hospital
Angus initially trained in Scotland at Inverclyde and Bute College and undertook postgraduate studies at the University of Paisley, Glasgow Caledonian University, Plymouth University and Bournemouth University.
Since completing his initial studies, he has worked in Urology caring for patients with a number of different conditions.
He is currently a Urology Nurse Specialist in Taunton & Somerset NHS Trust where his role involves the assessment and management of various men's health issues. This includes patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), erectile dysfunction, and prostate cancer.
Angus works very closely with GPs and urologists – specialists in men's health who are at the top of their field.
Angus is passionate about educating men to look after their health. He frequently organises men’s health awareness sessions in places where men may least expect it – from town centres and workplaces, to golf and rugby clubs.
Angus continues to promote the need for men to take ownership of their health and encourages them to discuss potential health problems with a healthcare professional. He strongly believes that early identification of a problem means early assessment, early diagnosis, and therefore early treatment – which has a better end result.
Angus’s work has been acknowledged by the NHS and the International Society for Quality in Healthcare.
